  • Aloha!!!

    Hi! This is the photography and lifestyle blog of Sheena Bean of Photography In the Light. I am a lifestyle photographer based in Kauai, Hawaii. I moved here with my family in January of 2015. My husband is the youth pastor at Lihue Missionary Church and we are raising three little world changers, Noakea, Banyan, and Avenlea Wren. This is His story, our story, and little snippets of life on a 562 square mile rock in the middle of the Pacific.

Eastern North Carolina Photographer {Families: Gruennert}

I hate to play favorites, really, I do.  These girl, though……sigh, seriously, can we all agree that they totally won the gene lottery.  The first time I saw these girls was when Mr. Bean and I were taking a Financial Peace class with their parents.  I remember he and I looking at each other and wondering how these two gorgeous toddlers were so quiet and well behaved.  As our class drew to an end, I approached their parents and told them that I’d love to have an opportunity to take pictures of the girls.  Thankfully, they took me seriously and called me a few months later and I got to do a session for these amazing little girls.

As I have gotten to know this family, I have come to realize that Miss D and her little sister Miss E are not only outstandingly beautiful, but they are sweet, intelligent, and loving sisters who show the results of great parenting.  I always look forward to taking pictures of the Gruennert Family and this session was no exception.  When Dawn asked me if she could bring their little vintage-y looking red velvet chair, I knew that we were going to get some super fun shots.

Big huge thank you to the Gruennerts for being supporters of Photography In the Light and for spending the evening with me!!
