Every time I get to do a newborn session I am reminded how much I love taking pictures of tiny babies. I remember those first days of motherhood, the exhaustion, of course, but also the newborn smell, the little way they purse their lips into an “o,” the starfish hands, the way their lips are so perfectly red and their squishy ears and noses. Everything is so new, so innocent, so full of mystery and familiarity all in one unexplainable way. There’s something about a newborn baby and the way they bring a fresh new promise into our lives that is impossible to experience from anything else in life.
My beautiful newborn client, Miss Cassidy, was a fantastic little model in every way. She gave me plenty of classic sleepy baby shots with some bright eyed ones just to keep things fresh. I don’t think she cried for a second. She’s the third born to this sweet family and I can tell that her big brother and sister are totally smitten with the new addition. Big sister was right beside me the whole time keeping a close eye on her new best friend. I can’t wait to see the relationship that develops between these two precious girls.
