Bath time ranks right beside bedtime as my favorite part of the day. Something about seeing my wild crew soaking up the warm water and hearing their laughter as they soak in the big cast iron tub always leave me blessedly reminded of how precious these years with little ones really are. I have been in the habit lately of using my iPhone to capture a lot of the every day moments that happen around the house. With 3 or 4 young children around me most of the day, I don’t usually have my DSLR handy. As I put Avenlea into the tub the other night, something told me to go get my big girl camera out of the case and I’m so glad I did. I captured one of my favorite pictures I have ever taken. There are just so many things about this image that capture this stage of their intermingled childhoods perfectly. She is so so blessed to have an older brother like Banyan. While his sensitive personality can be exhausting for me at times, he is always the first one to come running when she is hurt, the first one to pucker up when she wants kisses, and the first one to ooh and ahh when she’s dressed up like a princess.
I took some more pictures during her bath that I thought i’d share with you. I really wanted to encourage those of you who read this to take the time to take pictures of the every day moments that make up your life. Whether it’s some quick snaps of the kids eating lunch together or an impromptu session of the family running around on the playground; these pictures are the ones you will look back at one day and be instantly transported in your mind back in time.
